A serial killer in a disguise of humanitarian !!

Why does a person become a serial killer? Well, it is very difficult to give the answer as there is no particular reason behind it. Most of the time it is quite difficult for normal people to predict what is going on inside of the mind of a murderer. They don't have any empathy towards a person's feeling. They are absolutely dangerous. In 1971 FBI Agent Robert K. Ressler first used the term "serial killer".

Theodore Robert Bundy, an American serial killer once said that “We serial killers are your sons, we are your husbands, we are everywhere. And there will be more of your children dead tomorrow".

A short history of serial killers: -

Serial killers account for only 1% of the population though it is not a rare number. Throughout history, we get numerous names of serial killers. But it seems pathetic when a doctor or a nurse whose duty is to bring patients lives back, becomes a serial killer. The names of some serial killers who were in human service are H.H. Holmes, Daniela PoggialiHarold Shipman etc. In this list, another name has been added; Niels Högel.

Background & career of Niels Högel:-

Who is Niels Högel? He was a German nurse, age 42 years (30th December 1976), born and brought up in Germany. He worked at clinics in Oldenburg and Delmenhorst from 1999-2005.

Crime records of Högel:-

During 1999-2005, he killed almost 100 patients. But it is suspected that he might have killed more than 100 patients. There was not any logical reason behind these serial killings. He did it just to overcome his boredom. In 2005 his co-worker first caught him. He generally gave non-prescribed drugs to the patients.

Arrest & conviction: -

In 2008 he was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for attempting murder. During the investigation, one by one his murder case had been revealed and he also confessed to killing 100 patients himself. In 2015 he was sentenced to life imprisonment for serial killings.

What punishment does he deserve for this brutal deed? Is life imprisonment enough or being a psychopath will he get free for his treatment? Will it be justified?
